'The Simpsons'- 500th episode

Today I saw  500th episode of 'The Simpsons'.
A show which is on the run for 23 years and celebrated its 500th episode on Feb 19 .




'The Simpsons' with all the crazy citizens of Springfield were in full attendance for the celebration. Actually in the last episode (499th)  Moe gave the indication of the 500th episode during couch-gag.
So for the big day I expected a recap of famous clippings( in one of episodes of season 4) or a interview like format form the creator Matt Groening.

                                        

Starting with the couch gag (a 1 min 55 secs video medley) which had parts from various episodes was a first-rate way to proceed. Then the surprise drill and forcing the family for exile made me sad . What is Simpsons without Springfield ?



Springfield residents Moe, Lenny, Carl, Eddie, Milhouse, Lou, Appu, Mr. Burns, Smithers, Ned Flanders, Principal Skinner , Comic book guy, Kent Brockman, Krusty the clown, Reverend Lovejoy, Mayor Quimby ,Sideshow Bob and more were part of the feast. The notorious family -Homer , Marge, Bart ,Lisa and Maggi were thrown out of town .Now the family gets introduced to a new county where there is no law and is a dirt . 'The Outlands' is the towns name and the next-door neighbor is Julian Assange.

                                            

But suddenly Homer's friends realize the families importance and everyone except Skinner makes  it to 'The Outlands'( later renames 'The Springfield) as their home. Skinner is traced by Bart and taken to the new town. And everything came to an end with a note.

This episode didn't bore like many other Simpsons episode and if it did no one minds as they are making me and a hell lot of others laugh for quite some time now . this is the only show where sarcasm and fun go hand  in hand( after Chandler Bing's act from 'FRIENDS'). They can irk me sometime or make me weary but never  they stop giving me a smile after the episode end.

                                                          

P.S. -'The Simpsons' was supposed to end this season by Fox but the crew went for a pay-cut so it is renewed for 2 more seasons.
